Congress Venue
The EAA 2009 will be held at the Tampere Hall, which has three times been voted Finland's number one congress centre. Tampere Hall is the largest purpose-built congress and concert centre in Scandinavia. Since its inauguration in 1990 it has hosted hundreds of international and world congresses. Tampere Hall is located in a beautiful park just across the street from the University of Tampere. It is also within an easy walking distance from the city centre, the railway station, and from most of the congress hotels.
In addition to the Tampere Hall, the EAA 2009 Congress also extends to the premises of the University of Tampere. Some half of the sessions will be held in the modern facilities of the Linna Building, which houses the University’s Main Library and the Faculty of Social Sciences. Linna was completed in 2006 and is thus the latest addition in the city campus of the University of Tampere. Linna is located just one block away from the Tampere Hall and the movement between the two buildings will therefore be simple.
